USA Dance Dallas was formed under the guidance of Barry Gazaway. The first dance was held in March of 2003 at Sammons Center with 37 attendees. Early on, Betsy Lee and Wilson Chan formed the original set-up team. Betsy also ran the front desk with the help of Mae Molechat.

     USA Dance Dallas became an official chapter (5044) the following January under the leadership of Mark Jensen (President from 2004 - 2005). With Kari Halme, (President from 2006-2007) USA Dance Dallas has grown to the present membership of 250. The chapter conducts weekly ballroom lessons and dances at two locations in Dallas: Sammons Center and Sokol Hall.

     The chapter has been recognized by USA Dancer, Inc. as a rising star (2006) and as the 2006/2007 USA Dance, Inc. Mid-size Chapter of the Year in Region V (2007). USA Dance Dallas was also nominated for The Chapter of the Year Award in 2007.

     Mae Molechat is the current President for the term 2008-2009. With Kari staying as the club's consultant, they will lead the club into a better and more exciting dance club.
